I wish to extend my huge congratulations and say how immensely proud I am of ALL of our list of London finalists for this year’s British Arts Awards. It is so disappointing that you were not able to perform and win your placing. You have done incredibly well to get a place. I am an examiner in the preliminary round and I see hundreds of entries.

There is no doubt that Ava Barkworth would have been placed in the All Rounder for her section.  I am particularly gutted for Jess Millson who would have performed in the Advanced Song section for the first and last time. Getting no less than 12 groups through to Finals is incredible - no other schools get this many through. We have Baby section children, Cara and Angelina, who would have been through for the first time, and some pupils who will be the next age group next time. I would have attended every one of the performances and clapped so very hard for each and every one of you with a huge feeling of pride.

Our teachers excelled themselves with their group entries and worked so hard. Again, there are hundreds of groups that enter this competition and it is only the very best, the very polished, that get a place in Finals. Congratulations to our terrific JMDS teaching team: you are JMDS through and through. All the rehearsals pay off.

I am intending to invite many from this list to perform at our Annual Presentation Day on 4th July next year. For those parents that are new to the Jayne Marie Dancing School, you will be seriously surprised at the extremely high standard of these items and I do very much hope that you will get to see what we do best.

Once again,  be proud of yourselves, hold your heads up high... and very, very WELL DONE.

Miss Jayne
