JMDS Choreography Competition 2017

SUNDAY 12th November 2017, 2.30pm, Berkhamsted Civic Centre HP4 3HD. Put it in your diary!

Lola, 11, performing at the 2015 JMDS Choreography Competition

One of my favourite days when I was a young dancer was Choreography Competition. If you've never entered the JMDS choreography competition, why not give it a go this year? It's your chance to work on an item on your own or as part of a duet or group with some friends and perform it on stage; everyone who enters a duet or solo section gets a medal (and can wear it on stage at Presentation Day!).

The competition is open to every member of the school, no matter how old and senior or young and new to JMDS - it just has to be your own work. This is a school show without pressure, and can help you decide if you want to try entering other competitions later.

As well as the baby and junior members of the school performing I'd really like to see items from the seniors as well, and don't forget that as well as solos and duets you can also have a go at choreographing your own group or routines for solo and duet performers. All of the choreography sections have winners trophies awarded.

You can choreograph a Ballet, Tap, Modern, Acro, Song and Dance, Song, Entertainment or Drama (or all eight!).  I look forward to seeing lots of you with new medals on your belt at next year’s Presentation Day!
